The doctoral dissertations from OUC were evaluated by the Shandong Provincial Academic Degree Committee, and peer reviewed through correspondence by experts recommended by the MOE, and re-examined at the meeting by the panel of experts for academic discipline assessment under the State Council. The results were made known to the public through the Internet to seek opinions before the nominations were confirmed.
