Two teams from Ocean University of China (OUC) made a breakthrough at the 2012 final of the 6th National Collegiate Chemical Engineering Design Contest titled Sinopec Mitsui Chemical Cup.【点击查看中文版】
At the contest recently held at China University of Petroleum, the C4 Space team from OUC won the first prize and the Best Technology Award, while another team of OUC named Guanhaijingtao was awarded the second prize.
Jointly sponsored by the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC), Chemical Education Association of China, and the Steering Committee of Teaching in the Major of Chemical Engineering and Technology under the Ministry of Education, the contest aims at enhancing the education and training in China’s initiative of Excellent Engineers, developing the creative thinking and engineering skills of college students, fostering their spirit of teamwork, as well as improving their ability to do the engineering design and hands-on work.
As one of the most important and most challenging competitions in the chemical community, the contest has attracted nearly 600 participating teams from more than 200 institutions of higher learning across China.
The C4 Space team was comprised of OUC students Meng Xiangchao, Jia Tengfei, Li Zizhen, Shi Huilong, and Yang Mengzhu, with Associate Professor Wu Lianying and Professor Hu Yangdong as their instructors, while the Guanhaijingtao members are OUC students Wang Ying, Wang Xiaojuan, Liu Haining, Wang Zhen, and Yang Chao, with Associate Professor Su Baowei and Professor Li Chunhu as their supervisors.
