The 1st OUC-UEA Symposium Held

    A Sino-British joint symposium on environmental and marine sciences was held at the Laoshan campus of Ocean University of China (OUC) from March 7 to 8, 2013. 【Click here to see the Chinese version】   

    With the theme of “Marine System Environment, Dynamic Process of Climate Change and Biogeochemical Process”, the First OUC-UEA Symposium on Environmental and Marine Sciences aims to provide a wider platform for communication and exchange between scientists of OUC and their colleagues from University of East Anglia (UEA) in order to promote and encourage collaboration in such fields as environmental and marine sciences.

    Chaired by Prof. Gao Huiwang, dean of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering at OUC, the symposium was attended by Prof. Li Weiran, vice president of OUC, and Prof. David Richardson, deputy vice chancellor of UEA, who  gave a speech respectively. Prof. Trevor Davies, pro-vice chancellor of UEA, was also present at the meeting.

    Over 20 academics from UEA, Peking University, Fudan University, and Institute of Oceanology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as OUC’s College of Environmental Science and Engineering, College of Physical and Environmental Oceanography, College of Marine Life Science, College of Marine Geo-science and College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering gave presentations at the symposium.

    Faculty and students from relevant colleges of OUC also participated in a Q and A session during the workshop.
